1. It’s my first time trying yoga… which class should I take?

We recommend you start with the following classes: Flow 1 or Yin. If your personal schedule doesn’t allow for those classes, it’s okay to start in the Open Flow class as you’ll still receive close attention and the instructors will incorporate props and provide modifications when necessary. The optimal path is to try a few different classes and determine which is most appropriate for you. If you are unsure, you can always call or email the studio and one of our instructors can assist you further with your class selection.

 

2. What do I need to bring with me?

Really, all you MUST bring is you. We have mats and towels you can use at no charge, but you are welcome to bring your own as well. Please bring some water if possible. We do sell waters bottles for $1 and yoga mats for $25 if you’d like to purchase one upon arrival. In addition, we also have a variety of props you are welcome to use including blocks, bolsters, straps, eye pillows, wedges, etc.

 

3. What should I wear?

You should dress comfortably in workout clothes. We suggest a shirt that is fitted enough it won’t fall over your head if you bend over. For shorts or pants, choose a pair that isn’t too restricting. Also, you will be asked to remove your shoes once you arrive in the lobby.

 

4. I’m religious and not sure if yoga would interfere with my religious beliefs. Does yoga promote a different religion?

No, yoga is a philosophy of well-being. It involves positive energy, physical strength, and flexibility. Regardless of your beliefs, yoga will only heighten your experience and enlighten the beauty of your life.

 

5. Do you offer HOT Yoga?

We don’t heat the room to any extreme temperatures (temperature varies between 75-85°F depending on weather and number of bodies in the class). This means you’ll create your own heat, and yes, you will probably sweat!

 

6. How do I get started?

The Yoga Loft® conveniently offers online scheduling. You can always view our class schedule, workshop dates, and register online by navigating through our website. We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes early for your first class to fill out the necessary paperwork and figure out what kind of package you’d like to purchase. You can also use this time to ask the instructor questions or share any concerns that you may have.

 

7. How do I sign up online after my first visit?

On your first visit, we will create a MindBody account for you. When you get home, you can sign up on Mindbody by using the email you provided as your username and then hit “forgot my password” to set up your password for future sign ups. Contact us if you have any trouble.
