Tracy Steele Reid will lead a 60-minute yoga flow in the middle of the brewery on December 7th. After class, enjoy a well-earned brew of your choice. Practice balanced living and mindful drinking!

All levels are welcome. Bring your yoga mat and favorite drinking buddy!

Surya Namaskar – the Sun Salutation series – is a key asana sequence in yoga. If you frequent Vinyasa Flow classes, chances are you are all-too familiar with Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation), including the dreaded chaturanga dandasana (low plank)!

In this workshop, Sara Perez will break down each component of Surya Namaskar A and B sequences. We’ll explore each pose individually in complete detail, then explore how the poses relate to one another physically and energetically, and finally put each sequence together from start to finish.

Participants will gain practical knowledge of the correct alignment for each individual pose in the Surya Namaskar sequences and develop a feel for how to move smoothly and continuously from one pose to the next while using the appropriate breathing technique.

This workshop is suitable for both relative beginners who want to become familiar with the details of Sun Salutations and yogis with an established practice who want to fine tune and deepen their Surya Namaskar.

Open to all levels, Vanessa will teach you the basics of SUP and also guide you through a peaceful, yet challenging yoga practice in the calm waters off Picnic Island Beach. Your body and mind will find bliss in the serenity of nature.

 

Unsure about SUP yoga? Don’t be.

If you can balance on one foot, you can paddle. If you can breathe, you can do yoga. Our classes are accessible to all levels, offering modifications to add ease or challenge to each pose. We welcome everyone, from the first time yogi or paddler to the most adventurous inversion junkies!

 

What to expect in a SUP Yoga class:

Come ready to have a great time and get wet! We begin class with an introduction to stand up paddle boarding on the beach. You will learn how to paddle, turn, get up and down, and what to do if you fall! We will help you launch, and then head out for a short paddle to warm up the body before anchoring down and moving through a mellow yoga flow on the boards. We explore sun salutations, steady poses, and even inversions for the adventurous! The class concludes with a deep relaxation on the water, with the sound of waves lapping at your board.

Rachel Perry Justice will lead an all levels, 60-minute yoga practice that will focus on gratitude and open hearts. Following the practice, Kate Berlin will display a presentation on Purple Dot Yoga Project. Hang out after to socialize over drinks and light snacks with good company.
 
Registration is $25. All proceeds will benefit Purple Dot Yoga Project, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about domestic violence and relationship abuse and empower and support survivors using yoga practice and philosophy.

Finding Inner Peace through Meditation

From the Tibetan Buddhist philosophy’s point of view, meditation implies habituating the mind to a state of peace and wisdom. All of Buddha”s teachings are aimed at meditation, and he explained in a very precise way how the mind functions. Through a better understanding of the positive, neutral and negative aspects of our mind, we can gradually become our own true guide and master and create our own happiness.

Lama Samten was born in Tibet and became a monk at the age of 15. He escaped to India to pursue his studies, as did H.H. Dalai-Lama. After 17 years of intensive Buddhist philosophy studies, he received the title of Geshe, or Buddhist philosophy Doctor. Lama Samten shares with immense joy and love these ancient teachings, and will do it for the first time in Florida, accompanied by his assistant Jason Simard. Welcome to all, beginners or advanced!

Experience a profound guided meditation which will focus on breath awareness, intention setting, visualization, and deep relaxation. Yoga Nidra is translated as “Yogic Sleep”, and originated in India. It induces a state of relaxed awareness in which the practitioner moves through the five koshas, or layers in the body. We’ll begin with 10-15 minutes of gentle asana to prepare our bodies for relaxation and meditation. During the Nidra practice, you will be fully supported in a reclined position with bolsters and blankets, as you are guided to a state of deep relaxation. Suitable for ALL levels.
